HELLO.

We are Justin and Joy Skidmore. We have been married for 22 years and have served in various ministry roles for over 10 years. Together, we guide the vision and values of Harbor Church. We share a deep passion for God and seeing others grow in their faith. It is our desire that Harbor Church would be a community of people that loves Jesus and loves like Jesus.

VISION:

Our calling at Harbor Church is to shine the light of Jesus in Plymouth, MA so that others will experience God’s transforming love and new life. We do not exist to consume but rather to contribute to our community by bringing hope and help to those around us. We gather with the purpose of encountering God, who is both transcendent and immanent. His greatness and glory are beyond anything on earth, yet He is also practical and invites each of us to know Him in a very real way. Harbor Church is a place for every person regardless of age, race, or background to call home. Everyone is welcome.

VALUES:

BE SERVANT-HEARTED : Serving God and others in love and action are at the core of authentic Christian living. Jesus is our supreme example of being servant-hearted.(Galatians 1:10, John 12:26, Matthew 23:11, Philippians 4:3-5)

BE A STUDENT : We are called to be lifelong students of God’s Word and His ways. Our wonder and worship are honed as we lean in to grow in understanding. (Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Joshua 1:8, Ezra 7:10)

BE PRAYERFUL: Prayer is our most personal

communication with God. A healthy life of prayer happens both privately and together. The Church is called to be “a house of prayer”. It is a joy to pray! (Isaiah 56:7, Psalm 145:18-19, Philippians 4:6, 2 Chronicles 7:14)

BE A BLESSING : We are called to bless our local, national, and global communities in various ways to demonstrate the compassion, care, and love of Jesus Christ. (Proverbs 3:27, Galatians 6:10, James 1:27)

BE A TEAM : A team is unified in mission and recognizes that each person adds value through their unique gifts and abilities. We are better together! (Romans 12:9-13, 1 Corinthians 14:26, Ephesians 4:11-16, 1 Peter 4:10)

BE CREATIVE : God is Creator and He made us in His likeness. We are made to create. Our expressions of creativity should exalt the LORD our God with honor and praise. (Exodus 35:35, Psalm 150)

BE EXCELLENT : Excellence is not striving for perfection but rather having an attitude of giving your best and keeping a teachable heart that wants to be better than yesterday. (Proverbs 13:4, Colossians 3:23, 2 Timothy 2:15)
